Welcome to The Flower Box Saltford
Hello and a huge festive welcome from me, Ali! If you’re new here, I run The Flower Box Saltford — my little floral haven between Bath and Bristol, where creativity, conversations, and community meet. Every year, the highlight of my calendar is running our Christmas Flower Arranging Workshops, where we come together to create beautiful wreaths and displays. It’s honestly the most magical way to kick off the Christmas season.
Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned creative, I believe everyone has a spark waiting to shine. I built my whole business on one core value — I’m only happy if you are happy! That warmth carries through everything I do: from fresh flowers and dried arrangements to flower arranging workshops, events, weddings, and commercial planting.
If you love the idea of learning a new festive skill, sipping a warm drink, having a laugh, and making something beautifully unique with your own hands, you’re in the right place. My Christmas workshops are more than just craft sessions — they’re an experience, a pause button, a chance to indulge in creativity during the busiest season of the year.
Why Join a Christmas Flower Arranging Workshop?
Taking part in a Christmas Flower Arranging Workshop is one of the simplest, most joyful ways to slow down and savour the season. You can step away from the rush of shopping and planning, and instead create something with meaning, texture and personality. There’s something special about working with festive foliage and natural materials — the scent of spruce alone is enough to put anyone in a festive mood.
Workshops are also a wonderful way to build new traditions. Every year I hear people say things like, “I never thought I was creative, but this has become the start of my Christmas,” and it honestly makes my heart so full. Some guests come alone, others bring their friends or families, and many return year after year. It becomes your moment — your festive treat to yourself.
Plus, there’s the practical magic: you walk away with a wreath that looks as though it belongs in a glossy Christmas magazine, created by you. No shops, no stress, no flat-pack wreaths with limp foliage. Your creation will be full, fragrant and totally unique — and trust me, neighbours will comment.
Inside Our Christmas Wreath Workshops
Our Christmas Wreath Workshops are held at the beautiful Flourish centre at Glenavon Farm in Saltford — it’s cosy, welcoming and perfectly festive. You’ll be greeted with a drink and mince pie (or two… no judgement here), before finding your place in our creative space. Every seat is set up with tools, a wreath base, and a mountain of natural materials ready to explore.
Workshops last around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on your speed, and everything is provided — from seasonal foliage to dried fruit slices, pinecones, ribbons and scented festive extras. If you’d like to personalise your wreath with baubles or trinkets from home, you’re more than welcome to bring them along. Part of the fun is the rummage through textures and colours to find your perfect style.
I guide you step-by-step through the process, but you always have creative freedom. Big, wild, neat, minimalist, sparkly — my motto is “We love big smiles and big wreaths!” My aim is always to help you feel confident and relaxed, so you can discover your own festive flair.
Dried Flowers & Christmas Décor Inspiration
If you love dried flowers, Christmas is the perfect time to use them. They pair beautifully with winter greens and add such an elegant touch to festive décor. Many people don’t realise just how versatile dried blooms can be — from baubles to garlands, hoop wreaths and mini bouquets.

A Personal Note: Why I Teach Workshops
I fell into floristry by accident — or maybe fate — after attending a wreath workshop back in 2018. I left feeling completely inspired, arms full of foliage, and a heart full of possibility. That moment planted a seed that grew into The Flower Box Saltford, and now my own workshops are my favourite part of the year.

Christmas wreaths were my first love, so these workshops feel like a full-circle celebration. Teaching people to create something beautiful is such an honour, and every workshop feels different because every person brings their own personality. My promise is always the same: I’m only happy if you’re happy.
I believe fiercely that everyone is creative. You don’t need experience, you don’t need “artistic talent”, and you certainly don’t need permission. You just need the space to try — and I’m here to guide and encourage you every step of the way.
What to Expect on the Day
When you arrive at our Christmas Flower Arranging Workshop, you’ll settle into a warm atmosphere filled with laughter, chatter, and the gentle rustle of fresh foliage. I’ll introduce myself, talk through the materials, and show you the basic technique to get started. No question is too small, and no design idea is too bold — I’m always nearby to help.
Throughout the session there’s holiday music, lots of festive smells, and plenty of space to experiment. I’ll check in with you as you work, helping with wiring, shaping, trimming, and choosing textures. And yes — I give generous compliments because creativity deserves celebrating!
By the end, your wreath will be ready to take home, hang proudly, or give as a thoughtful handmade gift. Whether it’s adorned with dried oranges, cinnamon sticks, lush winter greenery or bold ribbons, it will be yours — created with joy, intention, and memory.
Who Our Workshops Are Perfect For
These workshops attract such a lovely mix of people. Some come alone for a bit of me-time; others arrive in groups of friends, colleagues, or family to make memories together. I also host flower arranging workshops year-round for hen parties, birthdays and creative days out. (You can see more about our events for hen parties here.)
They’re suitable for total beginners as well as seasoned crafters. I’ve had people say “I can’t even draw a stick man, I could never make this” — and then leave glowing with pride at the masterpiece they created. That transformation is honestly the best part.
And if Christmas inspires you to explore more floral creativity, you might enjoy browsing my portfolio, seeing what other clients and workshop guests have created, or learning about our sympathy and funeral flowers service.
